Jenny McCarthy’s Son Reports Her to Police for Texting and Driving

Jenny McCarthy’s son Evan is apparently well aware of the dangers of texting and driving – and is a stickler for following the rules. When “The View” co-host visited SiriusXM Studios to promote her new SiriusXM show, “Dirty, Sexy, Funny with Jenny McCarthy” in New York City, she shared the story about her 12-year-old “rule follower.”
The 41-year-old revealed on the program, “We’re driving in the car and of course I text and drive. He called the police on me and said, ‘My mom is texting and driving right now.’ True story.”
She said she responded by throwing his phone out the car window in order to avoid a run-in with the police.
Evan was diagnosed with autism, something that Jenny has been very vocal about as an advocate for her son, but in this case maybe she should have paid a little more attention to his warning instead of punishing him for it. “Of course I text and drive?” Not the best role model for a 12 year old.
Apparently, that’s not the only time Evan’s called police about his mom. She said she once snuck out of the house to smoke a cigarette, and he became anxious when he couldn’t find her and called for help.
Jenny explained, “He called 911 and said, ‘I am alone in the house. My mom abandoned me,’ I go back in the house and it’s 911 and they’re like, ‘Your child just called. Is there an emergency?’ I’m like, ‘What? No! Everything is fine.’
